editorial ambivalence by brancoprata
For this photography essay, our starting point was the word “ambivalence” and the meaning behind it. So what’s the definition of this word and why do we feel so drawn to it? In a very basic way, ambivalence is the coexistence within an individual of positive and negative feelings towards the same action. Like everything in life, it’s normal to have mixed reactions about everything – even marriage!
We wanted a raw, honest exercise on a relationship between two people: true feelings that overcome the flaws; heartfelt words spoken that make you forget everything else; and, the acknowledgement that perfection is tangible only when you realize that your strength is built on the good and the bad. We wanted our images to focus on the couple and the space – the actions and movements between the two and their reactions to the scene.
We chose a simple and discreet environment with unpretentious details so the couple stood out. With this type of focus in life, it allows us to realize that indecision or uncertainty are also part of the path to reach a joyful outcome!

Last November we went to Torroella di Montgrí, near Barcelona, to speak and do a workshop during Traveling Light, where more than 80 photographers from all over the world came to meet, share and learn from each other while disconnecting from the day a day life, and you can see more of this experience here.
For us, it was the perfect ending for and incredible year filled with many new challenges, outstanding moments and unforgetable memories. Traveling Light was a magical moment for all who attended, you could see the excitement in the air and we will never forget this week at Cinema Montgrí, where Albert Roig and his team where able to create an one of a time event!
During one of the days, we held a workshop, where we had the chance to speak and sshare our creative process when we design and shoot editorial work. For this workshop we prepared a story that we are sharing today. Each image portrays a significant moment in our plot. Our storyline is about a woman searching for her freedom, after feeling trapped into a routine.
We can't thank enough our incredible team, who made this possible under crazy conditions: Diva Borrelli Make Up Artist (a true angel walking the Earth), Canigueral Mesas con Esencia, Otaduy and Natalia.

SIMPLE EUROPEAN WEDDING IDEAS IN A WHITE AND GREEN PALETTE
This venue located in the North of Portugal dates from the beginning of 12th century. An old Monastery embellished by perfectly designed paths and artistic fountains has a graceful garden with a small pond, where you can still see the old retaining wall of stone. The massive walls, with various colors and unique textures of this stone Monastery, are absolutely captivating and inspired us for this editorial and of course, were the perfect framing for every image!

floral design: destination wedding at a french château
Last April we went to Paris to do floral design for a destination wedding taking place at this stunning venue, Château Bouffémont. It was challeging in more ways than one but I think it all turned pretty good and the couple was over the moon with their destination wedding in Paris! A special thank you to Johansson Correia the official photographer from this wedding, who connect us with Laís and Diego, our beautiful couple.
