Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, and one of the oldest in Western Europe, predating other modern European capitals such as Paris, London or even Rome, by centuries and a perfect place for an engagement shoot. It was ruled by a series of Germanic tribes from the 5th century, and then it was captured by the Moors in the 8th century, until in 1147, Afonso Henriques and the Crusaders reconquered the city. Unlike most capital cities, Lisbon’s status as the capital of Portugal has never been granted or confirmed officially, either by statute or in written form. For the last couple of years, Lisbon has been invaded by turists, seekingk beautiful architecture & monuments, as well as great food, wine and of course, fado.

Jacquelyn and Justin visit Lisbon last year and decided it was the perfect location for their engagement shoot. We’ve been following Jacquelyn’s work and blog, Lark & Linen, for a long time now, so we immediately felt overjoyed about finally meeting Jacquelyn in person.
