It’s finally time to share some fashion editorial inspiration with Nuno Miguel Ramos.
We found Nuno on Instagram in 2021. And we immediately fell in love with his work, so we knew we had to work together.
His 2021 collection VOA was perfect for what we had in mind, and our studio in downtown Porto was the chosen location for this shoot.
“… I had an obsession with freedom that terrified me to the point that I couldn’t even talk about it…
After arriving from Angola, with nothing. No dreams, no plans. Without knowing, without realizing… My family was divided but never separated.
I know that I had the privilege of growing up free, at home, with my mother, because I was the youngest, while my brothers and some of my sisters, went to family support centers.
It was difficult but the only possible solution. For some time it was dark but then, the sun shone again. And every Christmas and Easter weekend, my brothers and sisters came to visit us.
Many years passed but our memories never faded. But all the scents remained… the smell of lipstick and rice powder… The scent of leather and jeans. And those long nights laughing and jumping around. Then the scent of glitter and hairspray, the scent of gum and Madonna cassettes.
I smell the scent of freedom and the desire to run away so I’m able to stay forever.”
