A monochromatic inspiration for your elopement in the city.
A Winter elopement in the city is just want we needed this first day of October.
A perfect reminder that this time of the year is also perfect for small but meaningful celebrations.
Almost a year ago we designed and photographed this editorial and we would never guess this would become such a popular trend in 2020. Elopements and small intimate weddings are here to stay. Numerous couples across the globe are doing small celebrations in 2020. Many of them decide to run off secretly to get married (the mere definition of elopement) or decide to have small gatherings with their family and really close friends.
For this wedding inspiration we wanted to design something monochromatic that could resonate with the architecture of Sé do Porto, where we photographed the couple.
Porto’s Cathedral, the Sé, is an historic landmark in the old centre, where the city was born. In fact, Morro da Sé is the oldest district in Porto. It was built between the 12th and the 13th century and in time it suffered structural and decorative additions and alterations. Becoming one of the most important tourist sights in Porto and a historical and architectural landmark of the city.
Inspired by the history of this important building, we style the details and choose flowers for a more modern look, to balance the heavy weight of this historical place.
Above all we wanted to share a simple yet meaningful moment in a couple’s life. And more importantly… it doesn’t matter how you choose to celebrate, as long as you are together with the love of your life.
